A Deep Dive into Accreditation: Using Action Research to Assess and Evaluate a Teacher Education Program

Continuous assessment in the fields of teaching and education is a must for faculty higher as well candidates they instruct. Such requires deep dive into practice policy along with willingness to evaluate program delivery models objectively. Although accomplishing this degree evaluation not an easy task, it does provide rich opportunity determining strengths areas need improvement. Spearheaded by accreditation guidelines collaborative action research project, authors highlight lessons learned explore application possibilities within literacy program. From importance accountability from all stakeholders, (i.e. university administration, faculty, students), role technology integration plays, significance diversity implementation field experiences throughout, share their discoveries insights forthright reflective manner. As working those seeking certification at advanced level (Masters and/or Educational Specialist), examine influence CAEP, Council Accreditation Educator Preparation, has only on but, ultimately, individual pedagogy methodology.
